JOPLIN, Mo. -- Churches damaged in Sunday’s tornado in Joplin are cleaning up, making plans for Sunday services and reaching out to folks in the community.
Pastors at South Joplin Christian Church have spent most of their time looking for church members, many of which lost their homes but not their hope.
“Just watching and walking around the devastated areas today – just a real sense of “This happened and we’ve got to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and we’re going to move on.” said Tyler Whipkey is the Student Pastor at the church.“The community is really coming together.”The church building, which is over 100 years old, sustained major roof damage and the church will meet Sunday with two other churches at another location.-- Joel RobertsI made an appearance on K-LOVE with Julie Williams, talking about the snow in Kansas City.
